Fluer-de-lis jug

$285.00

France, 20th Century

A charming French earthenware jug decorated with the timeless fleur-de-lis motif, one of France's most recognizable and beloved symbols. Handmade by a small family pottery company, it bears the marking "Fait Main"—French for handmade—along with the No. 8 stamp on the base, adding to its authenticity and appeal.

There are a few very slight blemishes, consistent with its handmade nature and age, which only enhance its character. Traditionally found in French kitchens, jugs such as this were commonly used as carafes for water, wine, or milk, and today make equally beautiful vessels for freshly picked garden blooms. A wonderfully decorative and functional piece, full of French country charm and history.
