France 20th Century
By the door or along a kitchen wall, a bench like this would have been a seat shared by the whole household, where boots were put on in the morning and visitors waited to be seen. Dating to the early 20th century, it comfortably seats three and features turned spindles across the arms and back, and a hand-woven rush seat, all in remarkable condition for its age.
The rush seat was woven entirely by hand, and to find one this old still so beautifully intact, tight and without sagging or breaks, is quite special. There are some small splits to several of the spindles consistent with its age, and one spindle has been repaired. Despite this, it remains a strong, heavy and sturdy piece. Please see all images for details of its condition.
Full of character and charm, this is truly one of those very special pieces that is so hard to part with. It would be lovely in an entryway, kitchen or hallway, with baskets and boots tucked beneath.

France, 20th Century
An extraordinary grand French oak sideboard, a truly striking piece with the most beautiful warm, aged timber tones. Featuring three hand-carved cupboard doors and three hand-carved drawers, it has wonderful detail throughout and plenty of generous storage. The original hardware remains, with a working key for each of the three cupboard doors. Inside, there is one full-width shelf, making it perfect for storing linens, books, collectables or everyday pieces.
A large and impressive piece that really exhibits the charm, craftsmanship and age of another era. It would be beautiful in an entryway, dining room or casual living space, adding presence and character wherever it sits. Pieces of this size and quality are becoming increasingly difficult to find, making this a particularly special piece.
There are some very slight blemishes to the top, consistent with its age and years of use, which we feel only add to its authenticity and character.
Please see all photos.

Australian, 20th century
A beautiful painted desk and bookshelf, designed as one complete unit but made in two separate pieces for ease of moving. Heavy, solid and wonderfully practical, the whole piece has been painted and aged in our Antique Black, with the internal shelves finished in our rich, vintage buttery cream.
Simple in styling, but with plenty of character and functionality, this is such a clever piece for a corner where a little desk nook is needed. The desk has one handy drawer, with plenty of shelving above for books, paperwork or treasured pieces.
A lovely, versatile piece that would work beautifully in a study, bedroom or quiet corner of the home.

"It was a privilege to interview Sharon for a UK magazine during lockdown, and to be aware of her incredible business - Family Founded at the start of its fruition. I have since enjoyed watching it grow from strength to strength, and it is very special to see that so many others also appreciate the authenticity, love and commitment that has gone into making this dream a reality - and the business such a success. Born out of a passion for home, this spirit can be felt in all Sharon does."

"I’m always in search of unique beautiful vintage furniture and objects to decorate my home. I love everything that has a story, character and Patina so finding Sharon’s Family Founded store is such a gem. I have bought several pieces of furniture from her store already and loved every single one of them. Sharon’s photos are beautiful, but the pieces are even more beautiful in real life. If you see something you like on her website, don’t wait because it will sell very quickly and you’ll regret not pouncing on it when you had the chance…. I’m speaking from experience."
- Jay Jay Nguyen @jj_and_the_gypsy
"The second I saw Family Founded’s online store I fell in love. I was building a home at the time and so I purchased a few furniture pieces that instantly brought my project to life. They were beautifully captured online, but even more breath-taking to view in person. I then undertook a one-on-one online restoration workshop with Sharon and quickly discovered that she understands aesthetic innately. Moreover, her intricate work of drawing old stories out of even older timber is pure story-telling at its finest."

France, 20th Century
A rare French console table, the kind of piece that would have stood out in a home otherwise filled with plain, practical furniture. Set against the best wall of the main room, it would have held whatever the family wanted seen — a vase, a lamp, or the good dishes brought out when company came.
This piece remains in completely original condition, with an aged timber patina that is truly stunning. Rarely do we find a piece where the colour, wear and character have come together so beautifully. The pinned construction and natural signs of age are everything we love about old French furniture.
Simple, beautifully made and full of character, it would be perfect in an entryway or behind a sofa. Simple and timeless.
